Surgeon General: Obesity 'Terror Within'

This is greatness. Here's a paragraph from this wire story:
"Obesity is the terror within," Richard Carmona said during a lecture at the University of South Carolina. "Unless we do something about it, the magnitude of the dilemma will dwarf 9-11 or any other terrorist attempt."
I understand that America's larditude, for lack of a better term -- or lack of desire to use one of many better terms -- is a big problem, but isn't the "magnitude" of traditional, you know, violent terrorism the drama of it? What's the next national epidemic? Falling in the Shower: "The Slippery Terror"?

The report ends with this:
The surgeon general offered few specific solutions but said public policy reforms would not be helpful in curbing obesity, explaining that common-sense health decisions cannot be legislated.
Is it just me, or did the ol' S.G. just explain his way out of a job?
