Paul Newman, 1925-2008
Just a quick weekend post to wish Paul Newman a peaceful rest. From all accounts, a hell of a guy as well as a hell of an actor: Charitable, dignified, and talented. A brief scene from one of my favorite movies, Hud:

Be still my heart. He was
always my "Blue Eyes." The other
so-named celebrity paled in comparison
as a human being. This is a true loss
to the world and his family. Rest in

Newman was the greatest.
I was fortunate enough to briefly meet him this past year during a private tour of The Met with his wife and brother. HUD is one of my favorite films, but he will be remembered as the exact opposite of the man with the barb-wired soul.
I always thought he was the perfect man, which meant that he couldn't die. I've revised my definition.
