A Wednesday Song

I've heard three great outer-space songs in my life. Please let me know of any others. They are "Space Oddity" by David Bowie, "Rocket Man" by Elton John, and "The Commander Thinks Aloud" by the Long Winters. I saw that last band a few months ago in New York, and they put on a terrific show. This is a clip of "Commander" from another set, in Madison, Wisconsin. Enjoy:

You mentioned the best ones and all I can do is reach -

'Approaching Pavonis Mons By Balloon' by The Flaming Lips, and 'Subterranean Homesick Alien' by Radiohead

I'll add a more obscure Bowie song (though a great one) from his 1996 masterpiece, Outside: "Hallo, Spaceboy."

There's also the 80s hit, "Major Tom" by...a guy whose name I could look up if I weren't so lazy. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.

Also: "Across the Universe," by the Beatles, "Starman," by David Bowie, and "Walking on the Moon," by the Police.

"Starman" isn't so much about space as it is about a man FROM space. But he can blow our minds, which is far out, like space.
