I can't imagine something needing less explanation than the fact that Duke (basketball) is evil. It's like all of the preppie villains in John Hughes movies grew six inches and started plotting world domination in tank tops.
I've been a die-hard UNC fan since I was eight years old for, admittedly, no initial reason. But I am rabid. And over time, I have easily adopted the corollary responsibility of hating Duke. You can read all about it in Will Blythe's most recent book, which is well worth picking up.
