A Formidable Opponent (or Two)

In the meantime, here's a terrific post from Paper Cuts. The author of it, Gregory Cowles, participated in a game of Dictionary with Ammon Shea. Dictionary is a game in which players write fake definitions for words, hoping to fool other contestants into believing them. And -- oh, yeah -- Shea has recently read all 21,730 pages of the O.E.D. Among other winning qualities, the post features Shea's girlfriend, a former lexicographer who ends up stealing the scene.
