A Song to Hear

My Old Kentucky Blog recently posted this piece about a band called the Guillemots, who are establishing a reputation in the UK right now. Go to the post and follow the link to the song "Trains to Brazil." It quickly turns catchy as hell, and though it seems like a very unlikely union, it sounds to my ears like Big Country and The Cure.

They play the Mercury Lounge in NYC on March 13.

That does not sound like a bad union, actually. Big Country and The Cure. Both were very melodic, Big Country just rocked a little harder but had less eclecticism in their music. So are you saying "a harder rocking Cure"? Anyway, sounds interesting to me.

Um, dezmond, it might be more interesting if, instead of talking about the union, you actually clicked through and listened to the song, then gave us your thoughts. Eh?

Not necessary. I already know what they sound like through your description (as long as your description was accurate, of course). I like them. They're good.
