They Sound Good to Me

For this wet, gray Wednesday in New York, here's some sunshine. This is a clip (truncated at the beginning) of the Oscar Peterson Trio doing "You Look Good to Me" in Prague, 1969. Enjoy:

Oscar made a great album with the trumpet player Clark Terry - maybe the happiest recording I own. At the end of the session, Clark asked if he could do one more tune, just for fun: an impression he had worked up as a kid of the drunks who would pay to sing with the house band at the bar/brothel where Clark played. The story I read said that they had to do four takes before Oscar could get through one without falling off his bench laughing. Here's a video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l6_y0_AVepg - not as good as the album, but still good for rainy weather.
