Is there a chance that there is another meaning for the phrase "square dance?" Maybe she's talking about actualy club dancing, but on a square dancefloor. If she does actually mean square dancing where they spread hay on the floor, then clearly she is leaving the city limits to do so because I thought I read somewhere that square dancing was made illegal in the five boroughs in 1892. - Tavia.
