Soliciting Suggestions

I have 40 downloads on emusic burning a hole in my pocket. The site only features records from independent labels. If you know anything I should be listening to these days, please let me know.

I am the queen of impulsive e-music downloading, so I envy your problem. Here's some things that I have recently downloaded that I feel pretty comfortable suggesting to others:

"Let's Get out of this Country" - Camera Obscura (very poppy and very pretty with little bits of country here and there)

"Back to the Web" - Elf Power (think Indie band goes to the Renaissance festival)

"Scale" - Herbert (think pretty, Indie electronica)

If you're feeling adventurous:

"Gulag Orkestar" - Beirut (I'm in love with this album, but I can't guarantee anyone else would like it. Download "Postcards from Italy" at the very least.)

"Return to the Sea" - Islands (very eclectic and experimental, but also very interesting)

Oh, and if you don't have these yet:

"The Loon" - Tapes 'n Tapes

"The Life Pursuit" - Belle and Sebastian

"Fox Confessor Brings the Flood" - Neko Case

..then you must get them. Now.

That enough to keep you busy?

Thanks for the tips. I've got the Belle & Sebastian and Neko Case, but the rest sound interesting. I'll investigate...
